International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies (IYL 2015)-Opening Ceremony Report

As representatives of The International Light Association (ILA), Pauline Allen and Phil Stickland were delighted to have been able to attend the opening ceremony of the International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies (IYL2015), held at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, on 19 and 20 January 2015.

It was a stimulating two days of lectures by world leading authorities including five Nobel Prize laureates. Phil has produced an  iyl-opening-ceremony-report with links to the programme, videos of many of the lectures and other background that might be of interest.
